Setting up multiple NIC on the VM

In this document,we will look at how we can create multiple NIC on the VM.


Step 1: Add a second Network Card to the VM on vCenter or HyperV.

Step 2: Load the network module so you can configure the network settings on the VM.

  • Command: yast network

Once you run the command you will get the network configuration screen, select the “Launch” option and press Enter.

Now you will see your network cards that are installed on the VM.  We can on my VM we have one NIC not configured.

Step 3:  Select the network card you would like to configure and then select Edit.

For my example, I have used DHCP but you can set the IP address statically.

Step 4: Select OK and you should see this screen which shows the progress.

To check if the second network card is configured you can type in ifconfig to show all of your network cards.
