In order for ACM to work with MSSQL then Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service must be enabled and started on all SQL VMs. In a large SQL environment PowerShell ISE can be used to remotely configure the service on all SQL instances.

First you will need a list of the SQL VMs that need to be configured, by default the script uses C:\Windows\Temp\VMs for this file. (The list should have VMs separated by a return, example below)

In order to conduct the setup simply open PowerShell ISE as an administrator. And run the following command:

$VMs = gc C:\Windows\Temp\VMs

Foreach ($VM in $VMs)

{

  Set-Service -Name NetTcpPortSharing -ComputerName $VM -StartupType Automatic -Status Running

}

After running the command the output should look as follows:

Once the configuration is complete you should be able to target SQL VMs from Turbonomic.
