Setup Syslog on Turbonomic with CentOS

In this document, we will look at how we can configure syslog on your CentOS Turbonomic instance.


Step 1: SSH into your Turbonomic instance 

Step 2: Make a backup of rsyslog.conf 

cp /etc/rsyslog.conf /etc/rsyslog.conf.bak

Step 3: Edit the config file using vi and add *.info;mail.none;authpriv.none;cron.none @Destination_Server_Here

You can either use @hostname or @ip address.

vi /etc/rsyslog.conf

Add: *.info;mail.none;authpriv.none;cron.none @Destination_Server_Here

Step 4: Restart the syslog service

systemctl restart rsyslog.service
