Overview

This guide provides instruction on deploying a Turbonomic Instance on the AWS Marketplace using the CloudFormation template for configuration.

As of the time of writing of this article, the Turbonomic version available on AWS Marketplace is 6.4.15

Requirements

  • Access to your AWS Account
  • Valid Turbonomic license
  • Download the Turbonomic CloudFormation Template attached to this article.

You must modify at least the "BucketName" variable in this template to a globally-unique value. For a more in-depth explanation of the script, please see "Installing on AWS using the CloudFormation Template" in the Installation Guide located here.

Steps

  1. Access the AWS Console (https://console.aws.amazon.com) and log in.
  2. Click on Services -> CloudFormation -> Create Stack.
  3. Select "Upload a template" and choose your modified template. Click Next.
  4. Enter the stack name, instance size, and select the VPC used. Click Next.
  5. Enter the following Key-Value pair (Backup | True), which will enable Turbonomic to make periodic backups of your data. Click Next.
  6. Review your decisions. If you are satisfied, click "Create".
  7. Your Turbonomic instance will begin building.
  8. Once complete, navigate to the instance IP using HTTPS (instance details will be available under 'Resources'), and follow the on-screen prompts to begin setup.

Note: Please ensure to upgrade the Turbonomic version to the latest available v6.4 build using online of offline update
