So I know this is the free version of Operations Manager, so I know I won't get all the features. Does this include not being about to use the Active Directory Settings?
Hi Ty, Correct that in the free Monitoring Only version, you can use and create as many local users as you want.
Yeah, I was hoping to utilize the Active Directory setting so I can setup a group and just allow them to log in with their AD creds instead of another account they'd have to remember.
Just one additional point, our core product is Operations Manager, which assures application performance while maximizing utilization of the underlying infrastructure. Virtual Health Monitor is not a free version of Ops Man.
We offer the Virtual Health Monitor as a separate product and it provides visibility into many metrics but we don't see it as solving the real problem in today's data center which is why it's free of charge.
I would encourage you to try the 30 day trial for Operations Manager to see the difference first hand.
I'm definitely interested in utilizing the Full Operations Manager suite, sadly my company/department is very strict on expenditures. So for the time being until I can get additional funding for a potential purpose I'm need to utilize the Free version(Health Monitor), but as I replied earlier to Eva, was hoping to be able to utilize the AD settings so my other team members didn't have to utilize another account. I'm definitely hoping to be able to get the Full version, just can't at this time.
