Is there a way to view vRAM growth over the past 6-12 months. I can view the past 60 days of vRAM utilization in the inventory and I can view the projections but our customer wants to see proof and how they have grown.
Hi Thom, 5.0 is in EA right now VMTurbo Early Access v5.0 Announcement: Are You In? Do you want access to the Secret Group? I just sent you an invite.
Be happy to provide some assistance on creating a query, but bandwidth is tight since 5.0 is planned to GA the first week of November. First suggest you look at what queries we have here Custom Reports: List of Certified Reports and then work with someone on your team that knows SQL. If you want to post your query you can submit it for certification here How to Submit Your Script for Certification
Hi Thom. Let me run through the data we have and then maybe we can construct the best path to get it. First a quick review of our default data retention periods: 72 hours of hourly stats, 60 days of daily stats, then 24 months of monthly aggregated data. So first, I am wondering if getting VM data by month is what you are looking for? If yes, then do you want all VMs by Month for the past 6 - 12 months, or do you want an aggregated value of VMs by Month. If aggregated do you want groups, i.e. cluster A, cluster B? I already have a script I could share with you to get VM VMEM Monthly data for the past x Months, just need to know how you want that grouped if any? In v4.7 and 5.0 we can import scripts to create a report that can be generated, viewed and scheduled/emailed right through the UI. See this post for more information: Custom Reports: Start Here
I would like to view only VMs from a certain cluster. Aggregated date would be fine. The end goal is to show our customers their vRAM growth over the past 12 months. In fact if we could show them other metrics, CPU, Storage, hosts growth over the past 12 months, that would be great!
I can upgrade to v4.7 however we decided to hold off to 5.0 as we weren't too keen on the new reports interface.
I appreciate that VMTurbo is great at telling where I am going, but if you could build in some more "how we got here" into v5.0 that would be even better.
Is v5.0 available, even to test?!
