is there a detail User Guide about the Network Control Module?
How to install in a vSphere 5.5 environment with vSwitchs and N1k...
Can we get the netflow info from the vcenter or do we need to collect the data by a collector?
Hi Rene - Right now there are a variety of Netflow sources that you can use including VMWare distributed switches, NSX, Netflow enabled Cisco switches etc. I'll try to get hold of a definitive list of those we have tested.
To configure a flow collector for use with the Network Control Module on the Nexus 1000 switches. The following link may help point you in the right direction:
Alternatively you can configure a distributed switch using the attached guide:
Once this is setup you can add an installed flow collector as a target within VMTurbo, by simply specifying the IP address for the flow collector, and credentials for an administrator user account on that system.
NB: When you configure sFlow and Netflow collectors as targets, you must also have a license for the Storage Control Module. With these collectors, Operations Manager discovers DPods through storage controllers, and you need the Storage Control Module to discover storage controllers. Keep in mind that DPods are an important feature of the Network Control Module. The most efficient network traffic results when each VPod can be restricted to a single host. However, such an environment is unlikely. Operations Manager does have a likely chance of restricting most VPods to single DPods. This can give much better network performance than placing VMs arbitrarily across the datacenter.
Hope that help. Please let me know if you need any further assistance
