I'm looking to be able to report on the maximum physical CPU utilization per physical host on a point in time basis and on a historical day to day basis for trend analysis.
Thank you for the help,
The best way to report on a historical basis is to leverage our SQL query reporting functionality. If you go to Reports, create a new report (green plus button on the left), and select "Input as text," you can input a SQL query to generate a report. Below is syntax that would display the following columns: Date | Host Name | Max CPU Utilization
** Please note, you can specify whichever time-frame you'd like. I've commented out syntax that would restrict to past 90 days; feel free to tweak as you'd like
select snapshot_time as 'Date', display_name as 'Host Name', max_value*100 as 'Max CPU Utilization'
from pm_stats_by_day pmstats
join pm_instances pminst on pmstats.uuid = pminst.uuid
where property_type like 'CPU' and property_subtype like 'utilization'
-- and snapshot_time BETWEEN NOW() - INTERVAL 90 DAY AND NOW()
order by Date desc
Could you please provide a little more clarity regarding what you'd like to see for the "point in time basis" piece?
